KISSIMMEE, Fla. - A 19-year-old woman flipped her car and crashed into a body of water next to Florida's Turnpike, according to FHP investigators.

The crash happened early Thursday morning in the southbound lanes of Florida's Turnpike, roughly one mile north of Osceola Parkway,

Troopers tell Local 6 for an unknown reason, the woman drifted off the road, causing her car to flip and crash into the pond.

Rescuers had to pull the woman from the car and airlift her to Orlando Regional Medical Center.

FHP troopers tell Local 6 the woman sustained head injuries but did not immediately know her condition. However, troopers told Local 6 they expected the woman to survive the crash.
