Woman shot in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. - A woman was shot in Orlando, prompting a police investigation.

The shooting happened around 3:40 a.m. Wednesday near Westmoreland Boulevard.

According to Orlando police, officers went to the area of Anderson Street and Parramore Avenue in reference to a shooting.  

The officers discovered a woman who had a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, said police, who added that she was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center.

Police said the woman was shot before walking to another location to call authorities.

No other details were released by police.
