Miniature horses roam free near Florida's Turnpike

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Some miniature horses were roaming free Wednesday morning along the side of Florida's Turnpike in Miami-Dade County.

WPLG's helicopter was above the turnpike near Red Road as five horses were roaming in the grass.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers were standing nearby, apparently in an effort to keep them from roaming onto the turnpike.

One of them appeared to be limping.

WPLG was following the horses as they galloped through nearby yards.

The horses eventually made their way to a home with a barn in the yard.

It wasn't immediately known from where the horses came.
