Family raises rescued deer as pet

Roe deer found injured, dehydrated

SVERDLOVSK REGION, Russia – When it comes to pets, most people usually choose dogs or cats. But one family in Russia has decided to go with something a bit different.

The Russkikh family is raising a roe deer as a domestic pet.

The 4-month-old deer named Mila was found in the Urals region of Russia dehydrated and injured.

After rescuing the deer, the family decided to raise Mila as a pet after nature reserves and zoos refused to take her.

Russian law states wild animals must live in a natural habitat, but they have made an exception for Mila.
