Orlando Magic introduce Serge Ibaka

Magic send Victor Oladipo, Ersan Ilyasova, pick to Thunder

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Magic on Thursday introduced one of the team's newest players, Serge Ibaka, during a news conference.

The Magic traded Victor Oladipo, Ersan Ilyasova and first-round draft pick Domantas Sabonis to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Ibaka.

"He's just a perfect fit all around," Magic GM Rob Hennigan said.

Magic head coach Frank Vogel said he's impressed with Ibaka.

"He told me, 'I love to play defense,'" Vogel said.

"It's a business, and I'm happy to be here," said Ibaka after being asked about learning of the trade. "Things happen for a reason."

Ibaka said he likes the Magic roster.

"It's a young team -- and hungry," Ibaka said. "My goal is to make the playoffs."

Ibaka averaged 12.6 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game last season in Oklahoma City. The 26-year-old played his first seven NBA seasons with the Thunder, scoring 6,054 points and grabbing 3,875 rebounds. He averages 2.5 blocks per game in his career.

Oladipo was solid for the Magic over three years after being selected second overall in the 2013 draft. In 2015-16, Oladipo averaged 16 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.6 steals per game.

Ilyasova averaged 8.1 points and 5.5 rebounds per game for the Magic after being acquired from Detroit in the Tobias Harris deal.

Sabonis was selected No. 11 overall in this year's draft after averaging 17.6 points and 11.8 rebounds per game during his sophomore season at Gonzaga. The 6-foot-11 forward shot over 60 percent from the field in college.
