Sources: Orlando may be in mix for NBA All-Star Game location

League moves game from Charlotte in response to state's anti-LGBT legislation

The NBA is trying to figure out where the All-Star Game, which is set for Feb. 19, 2017, will be moved, News 6 Sports Director David Pingalore reports.

The move from Charlotte, which came in response to the state’s anti LGBT legislation, will happen, but the question is: to where?

There are multiple reports that the league is close to announcing a decision. Some are wondering if
Orlando would be in the mix.

“I can tell you from league sources that the Orlando Magic have expressed an interest to help,” Pingalore said, meaning Orlando could be a possibility for the game.

“From some of the people I know in the league, Orlando has the infrastructure in place for this to happen --  hotel rooms being the main factor,” Pingalore said.
