ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Pride extended its winning streak Tuesday night as they defeated Washington Spirit 3-0 at Orlando City Stadium.
The third straight win for the Pride Tuesday was an important one. It bumped the team up to fifth place in the National Women's Soccer League standings.
“Obviously a terrific win for us and a clean sheet, which is fantastic," head coach Tom Sermanni said. "(It was) difficult in the first half because they high pressed us and we kind of expected that. But then we felt the game would open up the second half, and when it did, we would create opportunities and that’s exactly what happened."
After a stalemate first half, Pride's offense scored three goals in the second 45 minutes.
Saturday night is the last of a three-game homestand for the Pride. They will host Sky Blue FC at 7:30 p.m.
