ORLANDO, Fla – Anyone still lamenting the end of Orlando City S.C.'s season should be happy to hear that competitive soccer will be making it's return to the Orlando City Soccer Stadium this weekend.
Beginning Friday, Orlando will play host to the 2017 NCAA Women's College Cup Soccer Semifinals and Championship.
The final four remaining teams are all top 10 programs in the country: Stanford University -- the number one ranked team in the nation, the University of South Carolina -- No. 3, Duke University -- No. 4 and UCLA -- No. 8.
This week, espnW named Stanford freshman Catarina Macario their soccer player of the year. Macario is tied for the lead of most total assists in the country at 13, and is tied for the fourth most goals at 17.
Parking lots at Orlando City Stadium open at noon on Friday, and gates open at 4 p.m. The first game between Stanford and South Carolina is set to begin at 5 p.m., and the second between Duke and UCLA is set for 7:30. For the Championship match on Sunday, gates open at 1 p.m., and a Women's College Cup Rally Towel will be given to the first 700 fans courtesy of the NCAA.
