Seminoles move kickoff time against ULM from 7 p.m. to noon

Florida State makes decision 'after consulting with a number of state agencies'

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Hurricane Irma has forced Florida State to move the start of its football game Saturday against Louisiana-Monroe from 7 p.m. to noon.

Florida State announced the decision Wednesday "after consulting with a number of state agencies and based on the information we have on the potential impact on the state," school president John Thrasher said.

"The earlier start will give ULM the opportunity to travel safely after the game, and provide many of our fans a chance to come to the game and return home in time to make any necessary preparations," Thrasher said.

True freshman James Blackman will be making his first start at quarterback for the No. 10 Seminoles (0-1) after redshirt sophomore Deondre Francois was lost for the season with a knee injury in a 24-7 loss to top-ranked Alabama last Saturday.
