Disney Magic Coming Home

Disney recently wined and dined a lot of bloggers, web people and the media with a quick cruise on the newly remodeled Disney Magic.  I'm sure my invitation was somehow lost in the mail ;)

The ship has been transformed in almost all public areas including a new lobby

And the Aquadunk water slide

Now comes the news that Central Floridians will be able to set sail on the remade ship. Starting in January 2014, the Magic returns for four months  to the terminal that was built for its debut in 1998.

I just learned that news after doing research after Disney put out a press release detailing its itineraries for 2015. Yes. 2015.  Complete with prices that are ummm unique to the Disney Cruise Line.

Their headline: Each cruise from January - April 2015 will stop at Castaway Cay- Disney's private island.

For me the headline is for part of 2014 & 2015, at least,  all four ships will be based in Florida, and we will have 3 Disney ships sailing out of Port Canaveral for two years in a row. The last time we had 3 Disney ships at the Port was briefly after the Disney Dream debuted in 2011. Then the Wonder was sent out to the west coast. (It's now in Texas -- but will eventually end up in Miami where the Magic sails now)

So if you want to check out the remade Magic -- you now have two chances in January - April of 2014 and 2015.

Here's Disney's press release:

CELEBRATION, Fla. (Nov. 12, 2013) – With all four Disney Cruise Line ships sailing from Florida ports in the early part of 2015, Disney's private island Castaway Cay takes center stage. Every cruise departing from January to April includes a stop at Castaway Cay, a lush tropical island reserved exclusively for Disney Cruise Line guests.
