Theme World:  Horror & Hurl

Two quick updates from Universal Studios. With prep work and construction well under way, Universal has announced its 3rd haunted house for Halloween Horror Night's 23.

It is called Urban Legends: La Llorona -- and was announced on Facebook at midnight with this picture

Universal described it this way: "Feel her pain and suffering as you succumb to her legend of tragedy… Enter the watery realm of La Llorona in this all-new haunted house"
La Llorona means "the weeping woman" and is a legend from South America about a woman who drowned her children to be with a man. Well, that relationship didn't work out  --- so she killed herself. Now she wanders and can't enter heaven until she finds her children. It's a happy tale.  Very HHN. It is the fourth of eight houses announced. The others so far are Walking Dead, Evil Dead, & Cabin in the Woods.
The rest will come out every day this week at midnight.

Here's a link to Universal's Halloween Horror Nights Facebook page. That's where the secrets will be revealed.

It's no secret that the final phase of the Simpson's Springfield is now open. Youtube is being flooded with videos like this one from user "Popsong1" showing  Kang & Kodos' Twirl 'n' Hurl in operation.

The ride joins "Fast Food Boulevard," "Duff Gardens," "Bumblebeeman's Taco Truck," and "Lard Lad Donuts"

All in all a very nice job of placemaking that transforms what was one of the ugliest sections in the park.
Thanks for your comments on my most recent post on hints for Avatar & Star Wars. I should have more on Disney's future plans tomorrow.

See you in the parks!
