'NCIS' to air episode 200

Show to air on Local 6 in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. – The 200th episode of NCIS, which airs Tuesday on Local 6, is such a big deal that the producers wheeled out a cake and held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on the set the last month when the episode was taped, according to an article in the New York Times.

It's a milestone few other television shows reach.

About 20 million people watch Mark Harmon as Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs each week.

The fact that this television veteran is the star of the TV's No. 1 show is pretty impressive in itself.  He still remains humble after all these years, saying that no one cares about the size of their trailer on the set and staff come back year after year to work on the show.

Harmon says in the beginning, they were not bad enough to be canceled, but just good enough to stay grab attention.

Tuesday's episode is a tribute in some ways to the fans who have been with NCIS from the beginning.   The show will bring back some past characters for cameos and set up some new scenarios for Harmon's character.

"It's all about the ripple effects of decisions and choices he has made throughout the years," Executive Producer Gary Glasberg said.
