ORLANDO, Fla. – The sixth overall pick in the 2017 NBA draft and current Orlando Magic forward, Jonathan Isaac, will sit out the final two games of the Orlando Pro Summer League.

After straining his left hip in Monday's game against the Dallas Mavericks, the former Florida State Seminole will wait for his next assignment from the team that is erring on the side of caution, according to a report by the Orlando Sentinel.

“On something like this, you always err on the side of caution,” Magic general manager John Hammond said in the Orlando Sentinel article. “We had a chance to see him play. I thought he played extremely well when he had the opportunity given to him. I don’t want to say we’ve seen enough, but we saw what we were hoping to see.”

Over his first three games in the Pro Summer League, Isaac averaged 18.6 minutes, 10.3 points per game, eight rebounds and seven blocks. According to the Orlando Sentinel, Isaac had an MRI performed after the game and it showed no structural damage.

“I’m happy I got some jitters out. I was able to showcase what I can do a little bit. Obviously, I wanted to play more and help the team more. But, unfortunately, I can’t," Isaac said in the Orlando Sentinel article. "It sucks. I feel like I’m a competitor and I want to win and I want to see my team win, and it sucks that I can’t help.”

The Orlando Magic are scheduled to play their fourth game on Wednesday at 5 p.m. against the New York Knicks.
