GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Nine suspended Florida football players are facing felony charges stemming from an investigation into credit card fraud.
The newspaper reported that university police filed sworn complaints against the players on Monday.

Defensive end Jordan Smith is facing five third-degree felony charges, while wide receiver Antonio Callaway, running back Jordan Scarlett, defensive end Keivonnis Davis, linebacker James Houston, wide receiver Rick Wells, linebacker Ventrell Miller, offensive tackle Kadeem Telfort and defensive tackle Richerd Desir-Jones are facing two third-degree felony charges.
All the players are facing charges of fraud under $20,000 and possession of another person’s ID.
When asked about the potential charges affecting the players' status with the team, head coach Jim McElwain said, "You're darn right."
The sworn complaints will be forwarded to the State Attorney’s Office, which will determine if any formal charges are made. The process could take weeks.
