The product of more than two years of efforts between UF and Nike to design something wholly unique for the team, the new gray-scaled outfit is best described as "gator-like."

The school's official website reports that this will be the first time in school history that the team will be wearing anything other than its well-known and orange and blues.

The specifics of the look of the alternate uniform include: a swamp green helmet--with the Gator logo on the side for the first time, a swamp green jersey with a gator print overlay and swamp green pants, socks, cleats and gloves to round out the ensemble.

The whole uniform will utilize Nike's "Vapor Untouchable" technology, which the athletic apparel company's design director of NFL and NCAA apparel Nate Retzlaff describes as creating a "shrink-wrap fit, resulting in fewer grab points for the opposing team."

The "Vapor Untouchable" tech is set to evoke more aspects of an actual alligator, including their, "armored body" and "its ability to be a master of camouflage."

The game against Texas A&M airs Saturday is at 7 p.m. on ESPN2.
