Virginia maintains top spot in AP Top 25 basketball poll

Michigan surges to No. 7

The University of Virginia maintained its spot as No. 1 in this week's AP Top 25 poll. The Cavaliers received all 65 votes from a national panel.

Virginia (28-2) won the ACC regular season title and have been ranked in the top spot for four straight weeks.

The University of Michigan jumped up to No. 7 after winning the Big Ten title on Sunday over Purdue.

A handful of conferences have already crowned their champions. Murray State, Loyola-Chicago, Michigan, Radford and Lipscomb have won their conference titles and will be heading to the NCAA men's basketball tournament.

The remaining conference will hold their championship tournaments this week before Selection Sunday on March 11.
