News 6 scores ratings touchdown with Super Bowl 50

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Super Bowl on News 6 WKMG-TV averaged 1.2 million viewers Sunday during Super Bowl 50, which was won by the Denver Broncos.

The game attracted a 76 percent viewing share among adults 25 to 54, and a 78 percent share among adults 18 to 49 from 6:30 p.m. to 10:29 p.m. 

After the game, the CBS postgame coverage was watched by 689,718 viewers. From 11 p.m. to midnight, a special live edition of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert was viewed by 244,940 people, with a 7.1 rating among adults 25-54.

News 6 at 11 p.m. aired at 12:02 a.m. Monday, achieving a 3.4 rating among adults 25 to 54.

Following late news, The Late Late Show with James Corden drew the biggest total audience for a late fringe program following the Super Bowl in at least five years. According to officials, 87,200 in Central Florida watched Corden, with the show garnering a 1.8 rating among adults 25 to 54. The Late Late Show also outdelivered The Tonight Show when it aired following Super Bowl 49 last year.
