Man rescued from Lake Eola fountain after screaming for help

Swan boat drifts away after man climbs onto fountain

ORLANDO, Fla. – A man stranded on the iconic fountain in Lake Eola was rescued early Friday after screaming for help, police said.

Orlando police said officers and firefighters rescued the man after receiving a call around 3:37 a.m.

Police said the man apparently stole a swan boat and pedaled to the fountain. The man climbed onto the fountain and the boat drifted away, police said.

The man screamed for help and was rescued.

Police said he was taken to a hospital for evaluation.

It's not known if the man faces any charges.

No other details have been released.
