ORLANDO, Fla. - Thanks to YouTube, home videos aren't just keepsakes and memories any more.  In fact, 15 seconds of video can quickly turn into 15 minutes of fame.

David Devore's 2008 dentist appointment is a YouTube legend.  At last count, people around the world viewed the home video clip on YouTube almost 107 million times.

"By the Sunday we had 10,000 views, and the following Wednesday we had 3 to 4 million view,s so it was crazy that first week," said David's father, David Devore.

The number of views was so big that YouTube offered David's dad a partnership allowing the family and the website to share in the profits of ads placed on David's page.

But that's not the only way to cash in on YouTube's clicks.

MTV and Sony bought the rights to a 14-second video produced by Orlando's own Jonathon Root and Bill Berry, known as Rootberry.  The video shows Root riding a skateboard while on a treadmill.

"I bring my camera everywhere I go, always trying to get that viral video," said Root.

While Rootberry is just breaking into the YouTube business, they've been performing together for 15 years taking their comedy and juggling act to stages around the world.

They say they've found a good YouTube video has universal appeal and is short and to the point.

"People are willing to commit 30 seconds," said Berry.

And those seconds are helping them to gain fans by the thousands instantly.

"The difference is now when we are at the airport, people say, 'Hey, we saw you on YouTube,'" said Root.

As for young David Devore's real life after the dentist, YouTube's impact will be felt for years to come.

"It's been significant enough to where the boys can stay in private school and hopefully pay for college," said Devore.
