Disney gives sneak peek of holiday display at Disney Springs

After FAA approval to fly drones, Disney reveals new holiday light show

ORLANDO, Fla. – It’s beginning to feel like a very Florida Christmas.

Disney posted a “first look” video on Monday of a new experience coming to the renovated Disney Springs this holiday season.

In a 24-second video posted to the Disney Parks Blog, operators count down to lighting up a spinning spectacle of green lights.

“This holiday season, the idea of “wishing upon a star” will take on an even more magical meaning in the skies of Disney Springs,” according to the Disney Parks Blog.

The light show announcement comes days after the Federal Aviation Administration granted Disney permission to fly multiple drones over Disney Parks and Resorts at both the Florida and the California parks.

Disney filed the request in October 2015 to use the "Flixels system" to monitor a "multicopter fleet."

Flixels refers to Disney's unmanned aircraft system.
