Universal Orlando buys 101 acres for future projects

Theme park paid $27.5 million for land

ORLANDO, Fla. – A local theme park seems to be eyeing another expansion. 

News 6 has confirmed that Universal Orlando purchased more land for an upcoming project.

The 101 acres is located along West Sand Lake Road, just east of Kirkman Road. 

Universal paid $27.5 million for the land. 

Park officials have not said what the land will be used for or when it will be developed. 

With the latest purchase, Universal Orlando now has 570 acres for expansions. 

The company is already working on building two new hotels at the former site of Wet 'n Wild.
