ORLANDO, Fla. – The new Disney Skyliner gondolas just made their first test run, but don't get too excited, the transportation system isn't launching quite yet.

The theme park ran the gondolas between Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney's Hollywood Studios as part of its first test runs, the Disney Parks officials announced.

Set to officially launch this fall, the state-of-the-art gondola system will begin transporting guests at the Walt Disney World Resort from Hollywood Studios and Epcot to four resort hotels, including Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and the proposed Disney's Riviera Resort.

The gondolas floated across Victory Way between the stations at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and the station at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Soon, more gondolas will be added and cycle through tests and training, Walt Disney Imagineering associate project manager Steve Pratt said.

During the testing phase, the gondolas will remain covered, but when the system launches, the graphics on the gondolas will include "Toy Story," "Star Wars," "Guardians of the Galaxy" and more.
