ORLANDO, Fla. - The Walt Disney Company will begin laying off workers in its studio and consumer products divisions, according to a report.

Reuters reports the layoffs will begin within the next two weeks. The report states the latest round of layoffs is part of a cost reduction plan that emerged from a company-wide review.

According to Reuters, the studio division layoffs will be centered around the marketing, home video and animation groups. The number of layoffs was not immediately known.

The studio and consumer products layoffs come days after Disney decided to shutter the LucasArts games studio, which it acquired when it bought the Lucasfilm brand.

Reuters reports Disney began an "internal cost-cutting review" in late 2012 to identify jobs it no longer needed due to improving technology.
