Kiermaier, Rays rally for wild 3-2 win against Red Sox

Major League Baseball rules say it doesn’t count as a no-hitter until the game ends and a team finishes with no hits. Hansel Robles (1-1) then came in for Boston and struck out the first two Tampa Bay batters in the bottom half. But automatic runner Randy Arozarena advanced on a balk and scored when Taylor Walls reached on a throwing error by second baseman Trevor Story. After Walls swiped second, Kiermaier drove Robles' 3-1 pitch deep to right for his first homer of the season.

The game was scoreless before Dalbec drove in automatic runner Jackie Bradley Jr. with his leadoff hit against Matt Wisler. Christian Vázquez then hit a sacrifice fly to give the Red Sox a 2-0 lead at Tropicana Field. J.P. Feyereisen opened for Tampa Bay and pitched two innings. Tampa Bay has only two hits heading into the bottom of the 10th.

Seager and Taylor were among 14 players offered $18.4 million, one-year qualifying offer deals before the deadline Sunday night. The Toronto Blue Jays were the only other team with multiple qualifying offers, made to left-hander Robbie Ray and infielder Marcus Semien. The Red Sox declined a $6.25 million option on left-hander Martín Pérez, choosing to pay a $500,00 buyout. and turned down a $10 million option on right-hander Garret Richards, triggering a $1.5 million buyout.

The Boston Globe first reported Bradley's decision,Bradley will join the Brewers will into spring training, which started in mid-February. Bradley turns 31 on April 19 and is regarded as a top defensive center fielder. He won a Gold Glove in 2018 and led the American League in assists by a center fielder in 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2019. The Brewers already have 2019 Gold Glove center fielder Lorenzo Cain, who opted out after playing five games last season but is back in spring training camp. They traded right fielder Mookie Betts to the Dodgers last year and sent left fielder Andrew Benintendi to the Kansas City Royals last month.
