Christopher Cutright, of Titusville, dies at scene, FHP says

ORLANDO, Fla. – A 24-year-old Titusville man was killed late Thursday in a single-vehicle crash on the Beachline in Orange County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Troopers said Christopher Cutright, a passenger in the sport utility vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The FHP said a 29-year-old Cocoa man was driving a 2003 Honda Pilot west on S.R. 528 when the SUV traveled onto the grass median. The driver overcorrected, sending the SUV across the westbound lanes and through a water-filled ditch before hitting two trees and overturning, the FHP said.

The driver and another passenger, a 19-year-old Titusville man, suffered minor injuries and were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center.

The driver and Cutright were not wearing seat belts, the FHP said.

Alcohol did not play a role in the crash, the FHP said.

Westbound lanes of of the highway just west of S.R. 520 were shut down for hours while troopers investigated the crash.

The crash remains under investigation, and charges are pending.
