1 killed in 2-vehicle crash on I-4 in Volusia, FHP says

Van, motorcycle involved in wreck

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – At least one person was killed Thursday night in a crash on I-4 in Volusia County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Troopers said the crash, which involved a van and a motorcycle, was reported in the westbound lanes at mile marker 128.

The van was driving behind the 69-year-old motorcyclist when the motorcycle stopped in the roadway, troopers said. The driver of the van hit the motorcycle from because she didn't see the motorcycle in time, the report said.

The motorcyclist was killed in the crash. Troopers have not yet identified him.

The woman driving the van, 52-year-old Kathy Hutchinson, was not injured.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
