2 injured in crash on State Road 429 at Florida Turnpike

WINTER GARDEN, Fla. – Two people were injured in a crash on State Road 429 at the Florida Turnpike on Saturday morning in Orange County, according to Fire Rescue officials.

Two vehicles were involved in the crash just before 8:50 a.m., and both sustained heavy damage, according to Orange County Fire Rescue. Two people were taken to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

Paramedics and firefighters cleared the scene, and the Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

SR 429 at the northbound turnpike on-ramp was shut down while crews worked to clear a pole that came down due to the crash, according to FHP Sgt. Kim Montes.

SR 429 was expected to open back up by 11 a.m., Montes said.
