Lake County drivers will see S.R. 50 detours
CLERMONT, Fla. - One of the busiest intersections in Lake County will see overnight road closures this week because of construction.
State Road 50 will be undergoing construction at the U.S. Highway 27 interchage.
Lake county officials say traffic is a major problem through this corridor so the project will widen the road from four lanes to six lanes and includes the addition of sidewalks, bike lanes and drainage improvements.
According to the Florida Department of Transportation, the detours will be in place from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. until Thursday May 3rd.
For eastbound traffic on S.R. 50, motorists will be directed south on Service Road, east on Hooks Street, and north on Grand Highway back to S.R. 50.
