ORLANDO, Fla. – Several people were injured Tuesday morning in a crash on the Florida Turnpike near I-4, officials said.

The crash occurred around 8:15 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the Turnpike, south of I-4.
Orange County Fire Rescue tweeted that there were eight patients in the crash, which forced officials to close all southbound lanes of the Turnpike. Six of the crash victims were taken to hospitals, officials said.
The wreck involved a big rig and other vehicles, officials said.
The Turnpike was later reopened.
