Man dead, multiple people ejected after EB I-4 rollover crash

Eastbound lanes reopened after crash near Longwood rest area blocks traffic


LONGWOOD, Fla. – A man is dead and multiple people were ejected from an SUV after a rollover crash Saturday on I-4, troopers said.

The single-vehicle crash happened around 3:30 p.m. Saturday in the eastbound lanes of I-4 near the Longwood rest area.

Troopers said there were seven passengers inside of an SUV. Six of the passengers were ejected after the SUV rolled over multiple times.

One man has been pronounced dead. Seminole County Fire Rescue said one of the patients was a child, who was taken as a trauma alert to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.

The other injured passengers were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center and Central Florida Regional Hospital. Fire Rescue officials said there was a total of four trauma alerts.

Eastbound lanes of I-4 were closed in the area. All lanes were reopened Saturday evening.
