NB I-95 traffic diverted after semi overturns, spilling ketchup onto roadway

Section of I-95 to remain closed until ketchup, truck removed

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – Traffic on northbound Interstate 95 at mile marker 156 was being diverted after a semitruck carrying ketchup overturned, spilling containers onto the road.

The Florida Highway Patrol said a tire on the semitruck separated, causing the driver to lose control and the truck to overturn.

Officials said some traffic began to be let through, but the two right lanes remain closed.

Drivers were being diverted off the interstate and were encouraged to take U.S. 1 and re-enter I-95 at Malabar Road.

Traffic is heavily backed up to Grant Road.

Troopers said a portion of I-95 will be shut down until the ketchup and truck are removed.
