The 23-year-old driver was wanted for questioning for a shooting investigation in Vero Beach, police said.

The camper stopped on northbound I-95 near the Pineda Causeway interchange around 3:45 p.m. The Brevard County Sheriff's Office and Palm Bay Police Department participated in the effort to stop the camper, News 6 partner Florida Today reported.

Assistant State Attorney Steve Gosnell said Brevard deputies took 23-year-old Christian Sagastume of Vero Beach into custody on charges related to fleeing police.

Earlier Saturday, a 25-year-old Indian River County man was found with a gunshot wound around 2 a.m. along a Vero Beach roadway, according to police and state prosecutors.

Jeffrey Rose was bleeding on the side of the road at 1660 Old Dixie Highway, Vero Beach Police Officer Anna Carden said. He was in critical condition.

“He (Rose) was discovered by some patrons leaving Filthy's Fine Cocktails and Beers," Carden said. "They brought it to the attention of one of the overtime officers that we have working that detail and that’s how they discovered him."

She wasn’t sure where Rose had been shot or how many times he was struck. She also declined to say what hospital was treating him “in case someone wants to pay him a visit.”
