Man killed in head-on crash in Orange County

FHP says Efrain Rivera Serrano died in wreck

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A 51-year-old Orlando man was killed Sunday afternoon in a head-on crash in Orange County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Troopers said Efrain Rivera Serrano died in the wreck, which was reported at 4:20 a.m. on Woodbury Road at Sophia Marie Loop.

The FHP said Serrano was driving a 2002 Honda Accord north on Woodbury Road when he failed to maintain his lane and hit a 2006 Toyota pickup that was traveling in the opposite direction.

Serrano was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he died, the FHP said.

The driver of the pickup, a 61-year-old Orlando man, was not injured.

A car traveling in front of the pickup was able to avoid Serrano's car before it struck the pickup, the FHP said.
