MELBOURNE, Fla. – A pedestrian was struck and killed Friday on Interstate 95 in Brevard County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened around 12 p.m. on I-95 north at mile marker 183.
Troopers said the victim, identified as 26-year-old Vincent Cutrona of Melbourne, was taken to Holmes Regional Hospital, where he died.
It's not known why Cutrona was walking along the interstate. A witness told troopers Cutrona walked into the path of the semitruck and was hit by its front right side.
The truck driver, 61-year-old Thomas Gilson, was not injured.
The crash blocked the interstate for about 40 minutes.
No other details have been released.
