Big Drive: Second new bridge brings changes for drivers on Kirkman Road

Construction is another part of I-4 Ultimate project

ORLANDO, Fla. – Drivers will need to pay extra attention if they are traveling Thursday on Kirkman Road, officials said.

A new bridge is being built over westbound Interstate 4, shifting traffic from southbound lanes of Kirkman Road.

Officials advise drivers to maintain a safe speed with the traffic changes.

News 6 Traffic anchor Amy Biondello talked to workers earlier this week and asked what it means for drivers.

"Traditionally they'd stay to the right and go to the left. Well, now they want to stay on the left and go to the newly constructed bridge, so it's important to pay attention to the traffic pattern, and if you want to stay on southbound Kirkman, just stay straight and to your left," a worker told Biondello.

Biondello will have more updates on the new bridge on News 6 starting at 5 a.m. Thursday.
