Woman, 25, dies in crash in Sumter County

Troopers ID victim as Kellie Marie Powell

LAKE PANASOFFKEE, Fla. – A 25-year-old woman was killed early Monday in a single-vehicle crash in Sumter County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Troopers said Kellie Marie Powell, of Lake Panasoffkee, died in the crash, which was reported around 2:35 a.m. on County Road 470 at County Road 300.

The FHP said Powell was driving a 2000 Ford Ranger south on C.R. 470 when she left the roadway for an unknown reason and struck a concrete barrier.

Powell, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene, the FHP said.

Troopers said alcohol did not play a role in the crash.
