1 dead in 3-vehicle Clermont crash, police say

1 adult, 2 children injured

CLERMONT, Fla. – One person died and three others were injured in a three-vehicle crash in Clermont on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The crash happened around 4 p.m. at the intersection of State Road 50 and 5th Street. Traffic was shut down in that area more than three hours while authorities investigated.

Clermont police said two adults were taken to South Lake ER, where one of whom died. Two juveniles were taken to Winnie Palmer Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Another adult and four more juveniles were involved in the crash but not injured, according to a news release.

Police said a gray Nissan, a silver Buick and a white Toyota were involved in the crash. Police said it is too early to say which driver was at fault.
