OCOEE, Fla. – An Orange County sheriff's deputy was involved in a crash Friday in Ocoee while pursuing suspects of a burglary, officials said.
Deputies were responding to a burglary at a resident before noon Friday on Sweet Heather Lane and began pursuing suspects. During the chase, one of the deputies collided with a bystander vehicle on Silver Star and Clark Roads, the Sheriff's Office said.
Two suspects were later arrested in the area of Vineland Road and Conroy, deputies said. Their identities were not released at the time of this report. They will face charges of aggravated assault against a law enforcement officer.
The deputy and another person were taken to area hospitals, officials said. The extent of their injuries is not known.
Photos from the scene showed the deputy's cruiser with damage to the front passenger side and a red car nearby that sustained front-end damage. Deputies said the car was not involved in the burglary.
