Troopers investigate wreck on Silver Star Road

PINE HILLS, Fla. – A motorcyclist was killed early Monday in a fiery crash in Orange County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash was reported around 3:40 a.m. on Silver Star Road at Coast Line Drive near Pine Hills Road in Pine Hills.

The FHP said a man was riding a Suzuki motorcycle east on Silver Star Road and struck the right side of a 1998 Ford pickup truck that was making a left turn onto Coast Line Drive.

The motorcycle erupted in flames, troopers said. Cellphone video (watch above) from a witness shows the bike fully engulfed in flames.

The motorcyclist has not been identified, the FHP said.

The driver of the pickup, a 46-year-old DeLand man, was not injured, the FHP said.

Eastbound lanes of Silver Star Road were closed in the area but later reopened.
