Victim taken to hospital as trauma alert patient

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – A motorcyclist was struck and critically injured Friday morning in a crash on Interstate 4 in Seminole County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash, initially reported as a hit-and-run, happened on I-4 east near State Road 436.

The FHP said an investigation unveiled that the motorcyclist was merging onto I-4 and struck a car that was slowing down. The motorcyclist was ejected from his bike, troopers said.

The FHP said the crash is no longer being investigated as a hit-and-run.

All lanes of I-4 east were closed in the area but later reopened.
