LAKE BUTLER, Fla. – A pedestrian was struck and killed Friday morning in Orange County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The fatal crash happened at 6:50 a.m. on Winter Garden Vineland Road at Carlow Court.
Troopers said a vehicle was driving on Country Road 535 as Jose Sanchez, 58, of Windermere, was attempting to cross the road on the crosswalk. The vehicle had a green light and troopers said Sanchez walked into the path of the car.
The vehicle struck Sanchez, who later died at a hospital, according to the crash report.
No other details have been released. The crash remains under investigation.
