Bus driver cited after Osceola County student injured in crash

Wreck investigated on Irlo Brunson Memorial Highway

One student was injured in an Osceola County school bus crash.

CELEBRATION, Fla. – A student was injured Monday morning when an Osceola County school bus rear-ended a car, officials said.

The crash was reported at 6:10 a.m. at the intersection of Irlo Brunson Memorial Highway (U.S. 192) at Vista Del Largo Boulevard in the Four Corners area.

The Florida Highway Patrol said James Brayman, of Kissimmee, was driving the bus, which was carrying 11 students, to Celebration High School and struck the back of a four-door Volkswagen, which was stopped for traffic.

A student and a passenger from the car were taken to a hospital with minor injuries, the FHP said.

Brayman was cited for careless driving, according to an FHP report. 

The driver of the Volkswagen, Simeon Mariano, 37, of Kissimmee, was ticketed for driving without a license, troopers said.
