I-95 north shut down after truck crashes into SR 528 overpass

Miami man ticketed for having improper load

Northbound lanes of Interstate 95 remain shut down near State Road 528 after a crash just before 9 a.m. Friday. 

A semitrailer hauling two excavators was traveling north on S.R. 528 when its load struck the bridge as it traveled under I-95, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Engineers were evaluating the bridge. It's not known when it will reopen.

The driver, Terrence Williams, 41, of Miami, was ticketed for having an improper load, the FHP said.

S.R. 528 and southbound I-95 are open.

No other details have been released.
