Man struck, killed while walking along US-1 in Brevard County, troopers say

Fatal crash occurred on US-1 at Pam Lem Street, FHP says

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A Melbourne man was struck and killed by a car early Saturday morning while he walked along U.S. Highway 1 in Brevard County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The fatal crash occurred at 12:30 a.m. near Pam Lem Street, records show.

The 36-year-old man was walking south in the right, through lane, and entered the direct path of a car that was headed in the same direction, troopers said.

The man, who was struck by the car and thrown into a traffic sign, was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.

FHP is still investigating the crash.
