3 killed in head-on crash in Titusville

3 others taken to hospital with serious injuries

TITUSVILLE, Fla. – Three people were killed Monday night in a head-on collision in Titusville, police said.

The crash happened around 10:30 p.m. on South Park Avenue and Bell Terrace.

Titusville police said a 1986 Oldsmobile was traveling south at a high speed before veering over the center line and slamming into a Ford Explorer heading north on the same roadway.

Two of the occupants of the Oldsmobile were thrown from the car at impact, police said. Three of the Oldsmobile's occupants were pronounced dead at the crash site. They were identified by police as William Levarn Davis, 50, of Titusville; Zyphria Derick Watts, 44, of Titusville; and Calvin Williams, 41, of Titusville.

Police said three women traveling in the Ford Explorer were taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Police identified them as Miriam Bittner, 30, of Titusville; Lynne Wells, 38, of Titusville; and Amanda Walkington, 30, of Merritt Island.

South Park Avenue, where the collision occurred, was shut down for several hours.

It was the deadliest crash to take place in northern Brevard since the May 2016 single-vehicle accident that claimed the lives of four sisters on a stretch of Interstate 95 in Titusville.
