New temporary ramp on I-4 east expected on Monday

ORLANDO, Fla. – Drivers who take I-4 Eastbound through downtown Orlando can expect more changes to the highway starting early next week.

This coming Monday is scheduled to bring more changes to I-4.

“This is another major miles stone in getting all of the Eastbound traffic on the new Eastbound I-4, David Feise Project Maintenance Manager I-4 Ultimate said.

The details of this latest round of work includes a new temporary ramp adjacent to I-4 East between Princeton and Par streets.

This new ramp will bring traffic from I-4 East and cars heading Eastbound on Princeton over to Par.

“So if you're on Eastbound I-4 looking to exit at Princeton this will directly effect you. If you get on the on ramp from Par Street this will also effect you," Feise  said.

Drivers needing to exit onto Par from I-4 East, will do so using the ramp which will be about a quarter mile sooner just after Princeton.

“Probably the biggest change is that they are going to exit the interstate about, roughly a quarter of a mile sooner to exit at Princeton Street," Feise said.

Cars accessing I-4 East from Princeton will use about a quarter mile long merge ramp to connect onto the highway via a left hand ramp.

“So they'll need to pay attention to the signage it will be of utmost importance. Pay attention to the signage and you should be fine, " Feise said.

The reason behind this long-term temporary set up is to keep traffic moving at speed while crews demolish and re-construct that stretch of I-4 East.
