Damaged railroad tracks fixed in Melbourne

2-mile stretch extends from Babcock Street to Eau Gallie

Damaged tracks in Melbourne cause traffic delays.

MELBOURNE, Fla. – Melbourne police issued a traffic alert Monday because of damaged railroad tracks.

"RR crossings from Babcock St to Eau Gallie shut down for at least the next two hours for track repair. Expect delays," Melbourne police tweeted.

Police told News 6 that crews fixed the two-mile stretch, and the crossings reopened around 9:25 a.m.

It's not known what caused the damage.
