ORLANDO, Fla. – A lane shift began Friday for thousands of drivers on Interstate 4 in the heart of downtown Orlando.
The change is taking place along a mile-long stretch of the westbound lanes between Colonial Drive and South Street.
Traffic shifts about 11 feet to a newly built bridge.
Eastbound drivers will undergo a similar shift next month, but the new bridges are only temporary so workers can demolish the old ones and build new permanent structures that will eventually run through the stretch.
