The crash happened about 12:30 a.m. near the intersection of Osceola Parkway and John Young Parkway.

According to the FHP, the man was driving a 2012 Jeep SUV southbound on John Young Parkway when he lost control of the vehicle, crossed the roadway, went through a ditch and some trees and crashed into the pond.

The SUV became submerged, and the driver, whose name has not been released, was unable to get out of the vehicle, troopers said.

Divers found the man in the driver's seat of the SUV and he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the FHP.
