ORLANDO, Fla. – Starting Monday night, an entire stretch of eastbound I-4 will be temporarily shut down and traffic will be diverted while construction continues on the I-4 Ultimate Project.
The nightly detour will take place from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday at Maitland Boulevard.
"Traffic will exit I-4, cross over Maitland Boulevard and enter back onto eastbound I-4 using existing ramps," officials wrote on the I-4 Ultimate website.
The eastbound I-4 exit loop ramp to westbound Maitland Boulevard (exit 90B) will also be closed
The Florida Department of Transportation said the shut down is being put in place because a new overpass is being built in the area,
Rolling road blocks for up to half an hour at a time are scheduled to begin May 8 for the westbound lanes of I-4.
